06.01.2015 Bridge Built Entry.

CLASS WOD A: 2-2-2-2 RM Thruster

2RM at 105# (building numbers - 65# & 75# warm-up, 85#/95#/100#)

The weight felt heavy than I am used to, which is from taking almost a week of rest to rid my body of this cold. There were a few reps I caught funny at the bottom of the first thruster, but was able to manage to rest and 'catch it' before I failed the rep. I was glad to get over 100# and hope to see these numbers continually improve

B: 5 RFT (1-3 1 min. rest, 4-5 FT)

15 Burpees

15 Box Jumps (20")

15 American KB Swings (35#)

End Result: 17:19 / This WOD felt awesome! Despite it being pretty tough towards the end, I really did enjoy the movements and how the WOD was set up. After watching Julie over the Regionals weekend, I didn't do rebounding box jumps and still felt I was able to keep myself at a good pace.

Sleep / First night using my Pure Pharma M3 before a WOD! I am so glad I decided to make this purchase, and can't wait to see how I feel after using it consistently for a week. While I have only used it a few times, I really believe I am seeing an improved difference in my sleep. Can't wait to report back!

Nutrition / Definitely still at just the okay mark here. I was able to receive a free sample of the Progenex Cinnamon Slumber Cocoon from their booth to try out again, with the recommendation to take half of the recommended serving. It felt good the night before, but in the morning my stomach wasn't so happy...especially after the WOD. I was able to down some Recovery, and can't wait for my own bag to come in! I'm officially getting myself on track to stay away from any with milk in it. There were a few slip ups over the weekend that may have contributed to my stomach/digestive system feeling off.

Hatch W3 D1

Back Squat

  • 1x8 @ 65% - 115#
  • 1x8 @ 70% - 120#
  • 1x6 @ 80% - 140#
  • 1x6 @ 85% - 145#

Definitely felt heavy towards the end, but it was even better to just be squatting some heavy weights. My last set was slower than the previous three because of the heavier weight, but I was able to accomplish all without failing.

Front Squat

  • 1x5 @ 60% - 90#
  • 1x5 @ 70% - 105#
  • 1x5 @ 75% - 115#
  • 1x5 @ 80% - 120#

All felt strong, and the first two sets are starting to feel pretty light at that weight and amount of reps. Still focusing on getting the bar back on my shoulders, keeping my eyes up/forward, and getting my heels dug into the ground.

Strength + Skill

High Hang Squat Snatch / REALLY working hard on getting underneath the bar. It was a frustrating night trying to figure out my body awareness but think I came out with some cues to keep in mind. Ryan was able to do a little work with me to make the drop click better in my mind. For this skill, I only did the bar (35#) and then 55#.

We used the crossover symmetry at the end of class to work on a little shoulder burn.

- NO skill work tonight, as it was already past 7pm, and I needed to head out to get groceries. Plus, I was pretty hungry for dinner. -
